I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly proceeding.
